Holy WeekHoly Week

Holy Week allows us an opportunity to reflect upon the shift in humanity Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross launched. It starts with Palm Sunday when Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem. The week leads us through the Last Supper, His crucifixion, and ends on Easter Sunday with His resurrection. This is the basis of Christianity, His sacrifice launched the New Covenant God promised and many had prophesied throughout the Old Testament. Each day of Holy Week allows us to peek into the heart of our Savior at an intently close proximity. His love for us is reflected in every significant step toward the cross, every breath up to the last, and His resurrection.

March 28 is Palm Sunday which celebrates Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. This service will be held inside the sanctuary, observing CDC guidelines: masking and social distancing.

April 1 is Maundy Thursday which commemorates the foot washing and the Last Supper of Jesus and the disciples. There will be a 6 pm service in the sanctuary, CDC guidelines observed

April 2 is Good Friday which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary . Even though we are not having a service, you can ponder the events of that day by reading Matthew 26-27, Mark 14-15, Luke 22-23, John 11-19.

April 4 is Easter which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and his victory over sin and death. Easter Sunday Easter is celebrated across the world marking the spirit of rebirth and life and as a remembrance of Jesus’ great sacrifice for mankind. Easter symbolizes Christ’s victory over death and promise of eternal life to those who believe in him.
