Connecting Team
“Connecting our community, as one, through Christ’s love.”
The vision of this team is to offer the community at large, our neighborhood, and our own membership opportunities to get to know each other. Having a more flexible Sunday worship service, one earlier in the morning, more casual dress, communion offered every Sunday, coffee and refreshments in a more casual setting in Fellowship Hall was instituted to meet the needs of an ever-changing demographic in our community. This service is called CAYA, Come as You Are. Pastor Scott also holds new members’ classes providing a light lunch offered in a casual and relaxing environment for those attending.
This team also has begun having monthly breakfasts between the CAYA service and the Sanctuary service. This continental breakfast begins after the conclusion of CAYA at approximately 10 am and concludes at approximately 10:45 am before the beginning of the Sanctuary service. This gives those folks in both services the opportunity to “connect” and get to know each other.
Memorial services are also planned by this team. They believe there is nothing more important that we can do for the church family than being there to support those individuals during this time of sorrow. This team includes many who are willing to cook and bake for the special dinners/meals.
