Earth Care Congregation

BREAKING NEWS!
We are now a certified
Earth Care Congregation!

For several months, the Serving and Sharing Team has been completing the  paperwork to certify our congregation as an Earth Care Congregation (ECC).
This program, launched by the Presbyterian Church (USA), supports congregations in integrating environmental care into their worship, education, facilities, and outreach. The ECC program began after \the church adopted the 1990 “Restoring Creation for Ecology and Justice” resolution, with Presbyterians for Earth Care forming in 1995 and the ECC initiative launching in 2007. Today, over 160 churches are certified nationwide- now including ours.
Certification involves a pledge and a self-assessment across four key areas. As part of our commitment, we’ve introduced “paperless Sundays” and days to improve our church grounds. Going forward, we’ll be asking for your ideas on how to expand our earth care efforts in the wider community. Your voice matters-together, we can fulfill this important pledge.

The Earth Care Pledge

Our worship and discipleship will
celebrate God’s grace and glory in creation.
Our education will encourage and support
each other in keeping and healing the creation.
Our facilities will be managed, maintained,
and upgraded to respect and cherish ail creation.
Our outreach will encourage community involvement
and public policy to protect and restore the earth.
